Host Monster is another one of the top web hosts in the market, they have also been around for quite some time - having been established in 1996 (ancient in terms of the web). Hostmonster does not focus on dedicated servers or reselling customers, but rather offers a high-end straightforward budget shared hosting product and a focus on customer satisfaction. Their normal price is $6.95/mo but right now they have a special promotion for $5.95, in our opinion this is a great deal if you consider the service they provide. (pricing is on a 24 month plan)
From first glance of their site, it is clear that Hostmonster is focusing themselves on individual consumers rather than mid-large size businesses. They appear to make the process very painless and user-friendly, many of the customer reviews we found mentioned that they were answered almost immediately when they called their customer support line. Hostmonster is one of our top picks for beginners in web hosting - due to the easy navigation of their site, user-friendly interface (cpanel), and the availability of almost instantaneous telephone support. It is also worth mentioning that their service is reported to be very reliable in terms of Shared Hosting, where many of their customers rarely if ever have technical problems or down-time on their sites.
The only negative comment we found was fairly minor, and related to a more experienced webmaster that would have preferred a less graphic-intense cpanel interface. This could be a plus for someone new to hosting, but could prove irritating for a more experienced user who wants simple hyperlinks to the features without all the extra noise.
